Wrigglers, Friday 1PM - 2.30PM
This is a very popular session that caters for babies from birth to one year old.
The session is for carers, parents, grandparents or childminders can come along with their baby and be safe in the knowledge that there will be a warm welcome and friendly advice on offer. Toys and equipment suitable for this age group are supplied, alongside refreshments for the grown ups. There is ample room for breast and bottle feeding in comfort, and nappy changing. We have a local Health Visitors, who will answer questions, listen to worries, and deliver advice.
There are various courses available during these sessions, including ‘cooking for babies’ and ‘Boogie Mites’.
Wrigglers is a good way to introduce your babies to a safe, healthy, and sociable learning environment that they can continue to enjoy at the centre up until they start ‘big school’ at 5 years.
Bunnies, Wednesday 9.30AM - 11.30AM
This session is specifically for the registered childminders within our area, who look after children aged from 0-5years.
The centre is committed to promoting registered childminding, and has a notice board available to advertise childminding services, articles and general issues.
Although the centre’s staff are always there to support each session, the childminders are welcome to take ownership in order to meet their needs and requirements.
We would very much like to have a representative childminder on our steering group committee, so that this group is well represented, and that the centre and childminders can work effectively together to ensure that the best outcomes for children and families are achieved.
Fruit, milk and water are always on offer to provide the children with a healthy snack.
Little Monkeys Tuesday 1pm -2.30pm & Friday 9.30AM - 11AM.
These sessions are for children under 5 to come and enjoy a fun filled play and learn session. Parents and carers play alongside their children with the toys, equipment and resources the centre provides. It is a great opportunity to get out of the house and socialise with others, whilst enabling your child to increase their knowledge and learning powers. Most sessions will have at least five activities available and are held in a large safe room. There is a safe area for babies to play, whilst the toddlers can run around without the fear of knocking over a baby.
We have art and crafts, a dressing up area, a library, a home corner, a wet play area, and a large welcoming rug for all the children to sit on while enjoying their healthy snack. A story is usually read to the children, or music and songs, encouraging all to join in.
Play and learn sessions are a great opportunity for children to discover learning resources they might not normally come across. It is also a great way to help them through the transition of graduating to the ‘big school’.
