Family Support

DADS

We are planning to hold a ‘Dad’s Club’ at Darley Dene School. It will run on every 4th Saturday in the month from 10.00 am - 12.00 pm. We will include play and learn, cooking and refreshments (bacon sandwiches!) alongside information, advise and support. Dads will be able to contribute towards what activities they would like to do, and to the success of the sessions.
When there is enough interest shown in starting this session we will publish the starting date as soon as possible. Please contact us if you are interested in helping to start this club.

YOUNG PARENTS

We have done consultation around the community to encourage young parents (under 21s) to attend the centre. Unfortunately we have only had a small interest by this group. We would like to be able to support young parents-to-be and young parents. Therefore please contact Jill, 01932 851502, if you are interested in coming to the centre.

Families with English as an Additional Language (EAL)

We are able to signpost families to support their need, including courses and resources. Contact us, 01932 851502, if you need more help with this.

Healthy Eating

We promote healthy eating here at Sayes Court Children’s Centre. We supply fresh fruit and milk at our play and learn sessions. We hope to be providing additional courses in healthy eating in the near future. We are aware of the importance of helping to prevent obesity, and work alongside the NHS to promote this.

Child Development

At the Children’s Centre everything we offer is focused on children’s development. If you are worried in any way about your child’s development then we are here to help and advise, sign-posting you to the relevant services and organisations.

We intend to hold various free courses for parents and carers to help with all developmental needs.

Smoking Advice

We endeavour to support and advise anyone who wishes to give up smoking. We hope to carry out smoking cessation sessions and courses in the future.

Partnership with Parents

This is an organisation that supports parents of children with special educational needs.  Their services are free, confidential and impartial. Here at the centre we know how important it is for parents to have support, regardless of needs, and are happy to put families in touch with this service.
